Koh Samui, Phuket, Pattaya or Bangkok: where to buy?

Koh Samui
An island in the Gulf of Thailand with its own airport and flights to Bangkok. Known for its relaxed feel, sea-view hills and pool villas. The most popular areas are Bophut with Fisherman’s Village, Chaweng, Lamai and Maenam. A good choice for your own long stays and premium property.
Phuket
Thailand’s largest island, on the Andaman Sea, with an international airport. It is the country’s most developed holiday property market: many new condos, international schools, marinas and hospitals. Popular areas include Bang Tao, Kamala, Karon and Rawai. A good choice for holiday rentals.
Pattaya
A seaside city on the eastern Gulf of Thailand, about two hours’ drive from Bangkok. Entry prices are lower than on the islands and city life runs all year. Popular areas are Jomtien and Wongamat. A good choice for longer stays and long-term rentals.
Bangkok
The capital and business centre. Condos in towers near the BTS Skytrain and MRT lines dominate, in districts such as Sukhumvit, Sathorn and the riverside. Tenants are mostly people working in the city, so Bangkok is above all a long-term rental market.
How to choose
- For your own holidays and peace: Koh Samui.
- For holiday rentals and wide choice: Phuket.
- For longer stays on a smaller budget: Pattaya.
- For steady long-term rental: Bangkok.
You do not have to decide alone. You can tick several destinations in the form, and your advisor will compare them for your budget.
