CategoriesInformative Real Estate

The Lai Expressway is a proposed project to connect Islamabad with the city of Rawalpindi in Pakistan. It aims to improve connectivity between the two cities and reduce traffic congestion. The project is also expected to benefit commuters traveling to and from the New Islamabad International Airport, which is located nearby.

The proposed expressway is expected to be a 25.6-kilometer-long, six-lane controlled-access highway. It will begin at the Kashmir Highway in Islamabad and end at the Adyala Road in Rawalpindi. The project also includes the construction of three interchanges, flyovers, and bridges.

The Lai Expressway is being developed by the National Highway Authority (NHA) of Pakistan, and the estimated cost of the project is around PKR 50 billion (approximately USD 308 million). The project has faced delays in the past due to issues related to land acquisition, environmental clearances, and funding. However, as of February 2023, the NHA has stated that the project is expected to be completed by December 2023.

Once completed, the Lai Expressway is expected to have a significant impact on the real estate market in the region. It is likely to increase property values in areas that are located near the expressway, as they will become more accessible and attractive to commuters. The project is also expected to generate employment opportunities and boost economic growth in the region.
